ohhh ok..i dont know if this is original..but its the best way to make Ham

Oven cooked ham(not processed)
what ever size you want..as long as you know how long to cook it..
-maple syrup
-brown sugar
-some water

cook the ham in an oven pot until it is about 3/4 done with water in the pan to keep it moist..the drain most of the water...squeeze some maple syrup over the tops and sides then sprinkle a bit of brown sugar on top(not a lot)

its sweet but really really good...tis the only way ill make it myself =)

What a brilliant idea !!

hmmmm I reckon we should have a traditional British dish in this book sooo....

Toad In The Hole

Ingredients

8 sausages of your choice
6 tablespoons of plain flour
2 eggs
half a pint of milk
salt

Method

Place the sausages in a baking dish in the oven.  Cook for about 15 mins until browned but not necessarily cooked through.

Turn up the oven temp to hot !

Mix the eggs in a bowl with the flour incorperating the milk slowly.  Add a decent pinch of salt and beat generously with a falk.

Add this mixture to the sausages in the baking dish pouring it around the sausages.

Place in the oven for around 20 to 25 mins until well risen and golden brown.

Serve with potatoes, vegetables and lashings of gravy.

mmmmmm  all of these dishes sound soo good  Smiley

here's mine..its a snack more or less that I just ended up creating one day out of the blue. Its my own and here's my recipe.

maybe we can have an appetizer section Smiley

Chili Cheese Nachos:
-------------------
1 can of chili (your choice of flavor. Double the recipe if you are using two cans)
1 / 2 cup medium onion chopped
1 glove of garlic finely minced
1 cup of grated or shredded cheese (I use velveeta since i love that stuff)
1 / 2 tomato chopped
1 Jalapeno pepper (optional if you dont like hot stuff)
1 / 2 cup of shredded lettuce
1 / 4 cup of black olives
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of lemon juice
1/4 tsp of pepper
corn tortilla chips
guacamole
sour cream
salsa of choice
(and any other vegetable or fruit you'd like. I personally just use what I listed)

Preheat your oven on 350 degrees or medium for those that dont have degree temperatures

In a pot or microwave, heat up your chili and cook it as per the directions on the can and let sit while you do make the rest of the nachos.

In a large bowl mix garlic, jalapeno, onion, lemon juice, salt and pepper together and allow to sit about 10 - 20 minutes to allow the lemon juice to penetrate the vegetables. After finished sitting, mix all ingrediants from the bowl into your chili and stir well making sure it all sets nicely in the chili.

Arrange your chips (use as much or as little as you like. Usually, 4 - 6  heaping handfuls of chips is what I use) either on a large cookie sheet or large glass casserole dish (I use the casserole dish). Then spread your chili mixture onto the chips. Top this with your cheese and place in oven until cheese is melted completely. Remove from oven and spread on your lettuce, tomatoes, olives, salsa, sour cream and dig in!

ok so this is usually only available around christmas..but its the best milkshake ever

Eggnog Milkshake
1-2 cups of eggnog
1 cup vanilla ice cream
half of a ripe banana

just pour the eggnog and ice cream together blend until almost milkshake consistency add the banana and blend until mixed well

i didnt give times bc blenders very..

...and making Jell-o (the boxed stuff) with milk instead of the cold water..you keep the hot water as it says on instructions, but you use milk instead of cold water..

2 cups shredded cheese (any kind will do)
2 cups cottage cheese
1 stick butter (works out to 1/2 cup)
2 cups boiling water

Throw all the ingredients into crock pot, dont mix. Cook on high for 2 and a half hours and then enjoy

Grilled Roasted Red Pepper and Ham Sandwich

What you need:
2 teaspoons mayonnaise, or condiment of your choice (optional)
2 slices sourdough bread
2 slices provolone cheese
2 thin slices ham
1/2 roasted red pepper packed in oil, drained and sliced
2 teaspoons butter
2 teaspoons grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
What you do:
Spread mayonnaise onto one side of each slice of bread. On one slice of bread, place one slice of provolone cheese, then ham, red peppers, and the other slice of cheese. Top with the other slice of bread with the mayonnaise facing the filling. Butter the outsides of the sandwich, and sprinkle a little bit of Parmesan cheese onto the butter.
Heat a skillet over medium heat until warm. Fry the sandwich on both sides until golden brown and cheese is melted. If you have an indoor grill, this sandwich may be grilled that way also. Cut the sandwich in half, and serve.

guys, hubby cooked this on good friday, it was beautiful

thai fish cakes

1kg fish fillets
3tbspn cornflour
2 beaten eggs
zest of 1 lemon grated
2 tblspns of fish sauce
2 tblspns finely choped chillie ar chillie sauce
juice of half a lemon
4 tblspns fresh corriander leaves(1/2 if dried)
2 small lime leaves very finely chopped
3 tspn of red or green curry paste
200g finely sliced green beans
3 tbspns spring onions or white salad onion
half a cup of oil for frying

place your boneless and skinless fish into food processor for 10 sec untill smooth in texture. Add all other ingredients except onions and beansand oil, and process for another 10 seconds or until combined.
transfer to a large mixing bowl and fold the beans and onions.\

form into small patties,  place oil into smal pan and heat to medium heat. cook fish cakes untill golden brown underneath and turn over.

serve with sweet chillie sauce.  is very nice with rice!

~we didnt have the full amount of each spice, as hubby doesnt like hot foods, but with half the amount it was still quite nice.
